Casa Bill

2025

Between the rocky desert hills and the ocean shoreline of a small coastal town in Baja California Sur, this conceptual project reimagines a vacation home for longtime friends. A reinterpretation of an existing home under construction, it expands on the original vision through a personal design approach. Conceived as a warm-weather escape from Canadian winters, it provides spaces for leisure, hosting, and family gatherings. Three bedrooms and three and a half baths offer intimate retreats alongside generous shared areas, balancing privacy with openness.

Natural local materials such as chukum, wood, terracotta, and clay tiles tie the interiors to the surrounding landscape. Sun-warmed tones and textured surfaces echo the desert’s depth, creating a calm, tactile atmosphere. Large sliding glass doors open the living area to a shaded balcony and outdoor dining space, fostering a fluid connection between interior and exterior and inviting daily life to unfold in the open air.
